Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Mind the Delay ("Service", "we", "us") provides an automated service that:

  • Accesses your TfL (Transport for London) account on your behalf
  • Downloads and analyzes your journey history
  • Identifies journeys eligible for delay refunds
  • Submits refund claims to TfL on your behalf

2. Eligibility

To use our Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
  • Have a valid TfL online account
  • Use contactless payment for TfL journeys (Oyster card support coming soon)
  • Provide accurate account credentials

3. Account Credentials

By using our Service, you authorize us to:

  • Store your TfL account credentials in encrypted form
  • Access your TfL account to download journey history
  • Submit refund requests on your behalf

Your credentials are encrypted using AES-256 encryption and are only used for the purposes described above. We never share your credentials with third parties.

4. Subscription and Pricing

The Service is provided on an annual subscription basis at the current rate of £15/year. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

5. Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a money-back guarantee: if we don't find at least £15 worth of eligible delay refunds during your first subscription year, we'll refund you the difference.

This guarantee is subject to:

  • Your account remaining active for the full subscription period
  • Valid TfL credentials being provided
  • Regular use of TfL services during the subscription period

6. Refund Processing

We submit refund claims to TfL on your behalf. Please note:

  • Refund approval is at TfL's sole discretion
  • Refunds are paid directly by TfL to your original payment method
  • We do not handle or process any refund payments
  • Processing times are determined by TfL (typically 5-10 working days)
  • We cannot guarantee that all submitted claims will be approved

7. Service Limitations

The Service currently supports:

  • Contactless payment journeys only (Oyster card support coming soon)
  • TfL services: Tube, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth Line, and National Rail services within the TfL network
  • Delays of 15 minutes or more
  • Claims within 28 days of the journey date

8. SMS Verification

TfL requires SMS verification for account access. Our Service includes an iOS Shortcut that can automatically forward SMS verification codes. By using this feature, you consent to the automated processing of TfL verification messages.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • That all eligible delays will be detected
  • That all submitted claims will be approved by TfL
  • Any specific amount of refunds

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mind the Delay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we will delete your stored credentials.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
